We started the morning dropping anchor and immediately putting some big Yellowfin Tuna (over 100 lbs!) on deck. After that, we switched gears to Wahoo. While they weren't exactly jumping on the troll, we patiently picked away at them one by one. Mission accomplished: Everyone onboard landed a Wahoo, including some folks celebrating their very first one!

Tonight, we're making a big move to dial in on the Yellowfin action for the next few days

The grind paid off! Today we picked away at some gorgeous Yellowfin Tuna. The bites weren't easy, but every angler on the Indy Shootout put in the effort at the rail. We're well-positioned and ready for another full day of Yellowfin action tomorrow!

The Indy Shootout continues to deliver! We had another fantastic day of tuna fishing with a few nice Wahoo coming over the rail to keep things exciting. We're going to squeeze in one more morning of action here before we point the bow north to focus on Yellowtail for the next few days

What a grand finale! We spent the last few days fishing the beach, finding excellent action on Yellowtail, Bass, and a few other fun surprises. 

To put the perfect cherry on top of a phenomenal trip, Chef Ed and Rolo delivered an incredible, fresh sushi spread. Full bellies, full fish holds, and great memories. We are now officially pointed toward home!

OC Tuna Club 10 Day

We pulled away from the dock yesterday morning, kicking off our 10-Day OC Tuna trip with a stellar crew of anglers. After a quick stop to load up on a full well of sardine at the bait receiver, we pointed the bow south and started our journey.

This morning was dedicated to preparation, featuring a successful tackle seminar with Captain Brian. He walked us through everything from successful strategies for Yellowfin and Yellowtail to advanced techniques for elusive Wahoo and Dorado. Now, everyone is busy in the final day of travel, spooling up their reels and tuning their gear, with the anticipation of the first bite running high.

Our OC Tuna group crushed it on their first fishing day. The quality was top-notch, with yellowfin tuna up to 100 pounds! We're looking forward to getting back at the rail first thing in the morning.

We hit the Wahoo zone early and hosted a full-day "troll-a-thon!" The effort paid off with several big Wahoo and some beautiful Dorado. We're dropping anchor right here to try for more Wahoo first thing in the morning!

We put in an all-out effort today, leaving no stone unturned in our wahoo hunt. Though the bite was tough, the grind paid off with ten total wahoo and a few tuna—the wahoo we landed were absolute monsters! One more day of wahoo fishing before we switch focus to Yellowtail!

We successfully wrapped up our OC Tuna 10-Day Trip yesterday! It was a grind with the coastal yellowtail bite remaining tough, but the group made the best of it and still managed to land some big ones.

The entire Independence team wants to give a huge thank you to Matt Paulson and Soda Pop for stepping up to host this year's journey. Youngs Tackle 10 Day

We departed yesterday afternoon on our Young’s Tackle 10-Day trip. Kevin once again came through with an amazing load of giveaways packed with top-notch gear. Today we’re getting everything prepped and dialed in for tuna and wahoo fishing. We expect to be on the grounds and fishing by around noon tomorrow.

We had some decent action on the tuna and yellowtail after arriving around noon today. While the majority of our fish were smaller, we saw plenty of big ones blowing up on the chum! We'll try to tempt those giants again tomorrow.

It was a challenging day of tuna fishing with the sharks causing issues, but we still scratched out a few quality fish. We're calling it a day on this zone and making a move tonight to capitalize on the wahoo bite tomorrow!
