Rice Bowl 10 Day

We started our journey yesterday morning, as we departed on our Rice Bowl 10 Day. We stopped at the bait receiver to fill up our tanks with sardines before continuing south.

Today is dedicated entirely to preparation for targeting wahoo, tuna, dorado, and yellowtail. Following Captain Brian's insightful seminar after breakfast, the crew has been working non-stop to ensure everyone is fully equipped and ready to fish.

Adding to the excitement, Dr. Fred hosted a generous raffle/giveaway, distributing excellent gear such as Penn and Accurate reels, rods, jigs, hooks, shirts, hats, anf much more for the group to use.

We anticipate starting our fishing action tomorrow, around noon.

Great start to our Rice Bowl 10 Day with wahoo and yellowfin tuna to kick things off. Hitting it again at first light for more wahoo, then switching gears to search for that bigger-grade tuna.

We had a great day thanks to finding a few productive kelp paddies! Now, we're shifting our focus to a team goal: we still have a few anglers waiting to land a wahoo. So tomorrow, we're dedicated to making sure every single person on this trip gets to take one home.

We're celebrating a full boat of happy anglers! With everyone catching at least one wahoo, it's time to shift gears and dedicate tomorrow to finding that bigger yellowfin tuna!

No luck on the big yellowfin today—rain and bad visibility defeated our search efforts. Still, we ended on a positive note, hooking a few wahoo late!

We hit a small window of opportunity today and made the most of it, landing some nice yellowfin tuna and a couple of wahoo! Now, we're swapping the offshore hunt for some inshore action—it's yellowtail fishing time tomorrow!

Yesterday's struggle for hungry yellowtail along the beach was frustrating, but thankfully, today offered a major improvement! We thoroughly enjoyed spending the final day fighting and landing yellowfin tuna.

To officially conclude our Rice Bowl 10 Day Trip, we managed a few successful cod drifts and pulled up some beautiful lingcod! A massive shoutout goes to Dr. Fred and everyone who made this year's trip possible. Thank you all for the great times and good company!

Left Wednesday for the Denio Charters 10 Day Trip. Beautiful conditions for relaxing and sipping on some Knee Deep Brewing Landfill Blonde/Indy Light.

Today was prep day for the wahoo and yellowfin tuna fishing. The countdown is on—we expect to start fishing sometime around lunchtime tomorrow!

We traded numbers for size today, bringing in some trophy-grade yellowtail and big white seabass. It was a stellar day of fishing followed by an even better meal—huge thanks to Chef Ed and Chuck for the amazing sushi spread!

We spent the day working the coast and managed to pick away at some nice yellowtail. It was a bit of a challenge getting our baits past the aggressive bonito and barracuda, but those who made it through were rewarded! Overall, a great day of fishing in beautiful weather.
