Maintenance 2026
After splashing in San Diego, we made our way up to San Pedro to tackle the heart of our maintenance list. The crew has been working around the clock to ensure the Independence is in peak condition for our return to the water in just one month.
What’s happening on deck: We’ve chiseled the upper deck down to bare aluminum and are currently prepping for a brand-new surface deck.
The Rails: We sanded the mahogany rails back to the original wood and are currently building up layers of clear coat for that mirror finish.
Behind the scenes: Work continues in the engine room and throughout the boat to ensure everything is mechanically dialed. There is a lot of work left to do, but we’re on schedule and excited to show off the results!
Also we will be at the Pacific Coast Sportfishing Show this weekend. Come on by and say hi!!
Maintenance 2026

We are in the home stretch of our off-season prep, and the reports are giving us plenty to be excited about. Local bluefin and yellowtail are already looking strong, and with 70-degree water still holding down south, the wahoo and yellowfin are waiting for us.
We still have a handful of spots left on some prime trips like our Young’s Tackle 6 Day April 24th-30th,
Seeker 3 Day May 6th-9th, and 8-Day Tady Lures May 9th-17th.
If you’re in the area, come see us at the Del Mar Show (Thursday–Sunday) to get signed up and talk fishing!
