Roger Eckhardt 8 Day

The adventure has officially begun! We departed yesterday morning on our Graftech Rods/Avet Reels 8-Day trip with Roger Eckhardt and our wonderful returning guests. Roger kicked things off with an incredible giveaway, sending everyone home with awesome gear from Graftech Rods, Avet Reels, jigs, poppers, and much more. We're currently making good time heading south, eagerly anticipating the yellowtail and yellowfin tuna action in the coming days. Shoutout to John Barrientos for making Captain Brian a custom swordfish bill with yellowfin vertebrae handle.

What an incredible start to our 8-day trip with excellent yellowtail fishing! It seemed like every technique produced, from fly-lining baits and yo-yoing jigs to dropper looping and throwing surface iron – all putting nice fish over the rail. The bite is strong, so we're staying put and looking forward to another great day tomorrow!

After our extensive travel up the line, we finally hit the bluefin grounds, and the wait paid off instantly! We enjoyed an incredible night, landing some magnificent fish over 100 pounds.

Our Roger Eckhardt/Graftech Rods/Avet 8-Day trip has officially wrapped up, and what a fantastic adventure it was! We kicked things off with wide-open yellowtail fishing down below, setting an exciting tone for the trip.

We then shifted gears and finished strong with excellent nighttime bluefin action, landing fish between 80 and 150 pounds! For our final day, we snuck away to enjoy some flat calm weather and managed to pull some big halibut over the rail.
